Apple has just reissued the OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 supplemental update for late-2012 Macs, including the 21.5-inch new iMac and Mac mini, as well as the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro. There aren’t any reasons given for the original retraction of the update, and no noticeable changes in the list of fixes that are included in it.

Apple today released its second supplemental update to OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Supplemental Update 2.0 addresses a bug in OS X’s Keychain, the database that stores saved passwords and logins.

We received a couple tips yesterday about 2012 Macs being unable to update to 10.8.2 due to a password-related bug. It appears that today’s update resolves that issue.

Owners of 2012 model year Macs have a minor update available for OS X Mountain Lion. Labeled “OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Supplemental Update 2.0″, the small system update resolves issues with Keychain that were specific to Macs released this year. OS X 10.8.2 Supplemental Update 1

Apple has issued minor “Supplemental Updates” to both OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion. The small releases focus on resolving a few prominent bugs, though the most noticeable is probably the fix for Lion users who are encountering extraordinarily long waits with Time Machine backups.

The updates are available through  Apple menu > Software Update and require a restart.

Apple has quietly released two supplemental updates for OS X Mountain Lion and Lion today. The first supplemental update for OS X 10.8.2 is available now in the Mac App Store, and a similar update to 10.7.5 has also been made available. Both updates contain small bug fixes.

OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 has been released alongside iOS 6. The update provides several new features and increased crossover compatibility with iOS, and also fixes a variety of bugs and complaints about previous versions of OS X 10.8.

OS X 10.8.2 Developer Release 12C31a

The first developer build of OS X 10.8.2 has been made available to Mac Developers as build 12C31a, 9to5mac notes. The update focuses on features that will probably arrive in the Fall presumably alongside iOS 6 and the next iPhone, including integrating Facebook into OS X much like Twitter, in addition to updates made to iMessages, Game Center, Safari, and Reminders.
