A petition against a phone unlocking ban that was introduced last month has now received more than 100,000 online signatures, the threshold petitions must reach to get an official response from the Obama Administration. The petition calls for the White House to make cellphone unlocking legal again, without having to go through a carrier.

Back in October 2012, the Librarian of Congress decided that the process of unlocking a cellphone via a  [Read More...]

T-Mobile recently announced that it has finally entered a partnership with Apple, meaning the iPhone should be sold on T-Mobile sometime later this year. While the iPhone isn’t officially sold on T-Mobile quite yet, that hasn’t kept iPhone owners from joining T-Mobile’s ranks. The nation’s fourth largest carrier says that it has been adding 100,000 iPhone activations each month, and T-Mobile now serves 1.9 million iPhones total.

iPhone at 100,000 feet drop

G-Form, the makers of extreme protective cases for iPads, MacBooks, and iPhones, is demonstrating the effectiveness of their latest iPhone 5 case by sending a device 100,000′ into the atmosphere with a weather balloon, and then letting it free fall and crash land back to Earth. As you probably guessed, the device survives just fine, thanks to the impact absorbing shell of the Extreme case line, but  [Read More...]

iPod-touch-in-space

G-Form is a case manufacturer that’s famous for taking expensive devices and running them over, throwing them off balconies, and dropping bowling balls on top of them. The company is so confident its cases can withstand damage of this magnitude that it’s more than happy to prove it. Its latest trick sees Apple’s latest iPod touch take a 100,000-foot free fall inside the company’s new Xtreme iPhone 5 case. It survives without  [Read More...]

Looks like the iPhone 5 will be popular in China, too.

China Unicom, China’s second-largest mobile carrier, began accepting iPhone 5 pre-orders on Monday ahead of the handset’s December 14 launch. And during the first day alone, it saw more than 100,000 orders placed online. Apple devices have become hugely popular in China, and it seems the iPhone 5 will be no exception.

China Unicom didn’t request any money from customers placing  [Read More...]

That’s a lot of money for an old Mac.

Remember the Mac 128K prototype with the 5.25-inch ‘Twiggy’ drive? Our own Adam Rosen showed you the prototype in detail several months ago, and a model has now surfaced on eBay. The cost to own this piece of Apple history? $ 100,000. Adam explains: Production Mac models used 3.5-inch 400k floppy disk drives, a format Apple largely introduced to the world. This  [Read More...]

I wonder what would happen if the device was dropped from the height of the iPad 18 miles? In an exciting experience for a number of technology enthusiasts, they sent the iPad device, which proved to be a camera on board the balloon to rise 18 thousand miles, which is equivalent to 4 times the height of Mount Everest. And when it fell and hit the land, was still intact and working, according to the video network ITN. The Video  [Read More...]

iPad Survives 100,000 Foot Fall From “Space”

Don’t see this everyday. An iPad surviving a 100,000 foot fall. From space. The iPad might not have been in orbital space, but the video is down right amazing. Taking into account terminal velocity the fact the iPad survived that kind of fall, fully functional and intact, makes me want to purchase a G-Form Extreme Edge case. The company used a weather balloon to float the iPad up to the 100,000 foot marker where the balloon promptly popped and sent  [Read More...]
