Path was recently fined $ 800,000 by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for deceiving its users “by collecting personal information from their mobile device address books without their knowledge and consent.” Last year, the social network was caught storing all of its users’ contacts on its servers under the radar. U.S. Senators Introduce New Bill To Make Cellphone Unlocking Legal Again


A group of U.S. Senators have introduced a new bill that will allow cellphone owners to legally unlock their devices again after their contract has expired.

Called the Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act, and backed by Al Franken and members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the bill would reverse a Library of Congress ruling from October 2012 that deemed cellphone unlocking illegal unless the process was performed by a carrier.

As of January 26th, it is now illegal for you to unlock your smartphone if you want to use it on another network. Carrier unlocking has been legal in the U.S. for years, but in October the Library of Congress ruled that unauthorized unlocking is a crime.

iMac Shipping Times Fall Again, Now At Just 24 Hours


Shipping times for the new 21.5- and 27-inch iMacs has fallen again for the second time in under a week. You can now expect the popular all-in-one to be dispatched “within 24 hours” if you live in the United States or Canada, which is a huge improvement over the six-week delay that customers were facing just one month ago.
