Apple just made iCloud a lot more secure yesterday by rolling out a two-step authentication process that should keep hijackers at bay. However, a huge security hole was just found that allows hijackers to reset Apple ID passwords with only an email address and your date of birth.

Lock Screen

A bug has been discovered on the iPhone running iOS 6.0.1 and iOS 6.1 which allows users to bypass the lock screen passcode and gain access to a users Contacts and the users Camera roll. The trick only works on iPhones because it uses the Emergency Call button.

A bug in Apple’s iOS 6.1 operating system allows the passcode lock to by bypassed on the iPhone. Using a simple series of taps and button presses, a user can gain access to your handset’s Phone app, which then lets them view your contacts, check your voicemail, and see your photos. The US Copyright Office reviews the Digital Millennium Copyright Act every three years, looking at requests to create temporary changes that act as ersatz loopholes int he law, typically to address continually changing technology standards.
