That historic “grab a cuppa joe with Tim Cook” auction, which still has a couple of weeks to go and has already broken records, has had a little bit of a set back: credit card fraud that has set the auction back by thousands of dollars.

Right now, the current high bid for an hour long cup of coffee and chat with Apple CEO Tim Cook  [Read More...]

American McGee’s Spicy Horse Games (Akaneiro, Alice: Madness Returns) revealed its new real time strategy (RTS) digital collectible card game today, tentatively titled Hell Invaders.

It’s set to release on Mac, iPad, PC and Linux sometime this coming Fall, and it looks like a weird cross between Diablo and Magic: The Gathering. Instead of cards moving toward each other with animation, the actual monsters on the cards fight it out  [Read More...]

Did you know that Google’s former head of Android worked at Apple for a few years in the early 90s? Andy Rubin was a manufacturing engineer at Apple from 1989-1992. He still has his old business card, and it looks awesome with the retro Apple logo and unofficial title, “Bad Example.”

Since he moved away from Android to work on other stuff at Google, Rubin has been posting a lot more to  [Read More...]

Pay $ 80, get $ 100 worth of apps, music, movies or iBooks, thanks to this killer iTunes Gift Card deal over at Best Buy.

That’s basically free money: if you’re ever likely to spend more than $ 80 through iTunes (and that’s pretty much all of us) you’d be stupid to pass this opportunity up. Better act fast.

For his girlfriend’s birthday, Alex and some of her friends all chipped in to get her a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

The finishing touch, though? The piece de resistance, as it were? A brilliant custom birthday card that apes the style of an official Apple product announcement.

That’s a hell of a gift, with a hell of a personal touch. Alex’s girlfriend better marry that  [Read More...]

I consider Apple’s Lightning SD card adapter to be a step backwards – the original camera connection kit not only included an SD dongle and a USB port, but it also provided them in convenient, pocketable, non-be-cabled form.

Thanks to the fine folks at Photojojo, though, you can now relive the excitement of not using a cable to plug in your SD card with the Lightning SD Reader.

There are a couple of connectors, all  [Read More...]
