Apple Expected To Ask Carriers Pay More As iPhone Sales Continue Upward

As iPhone sales continue to climb, U.S. carriers should expect Apple to also require increased subsidies, one observer writes. Verizon could pay nearly 28 percent more in 2012, with Sprint and AT&T also facing double-digit hikes in payments for the popular smartphone. Apple’s Business Prospects in Israel May Be Bigger Than Initially Expected

iPhone 4S Cleared For Sales in China With Expected December Arrival

The folks over at MIC Gadget are reporting that China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) have finally issued the network access permit for the iPhone 4S earlier this week. According to the report, this permit was the last obstacle standing in Apple’s way to officially sell the iPhone 4S in China. Sprint Posts Lower Quarterly Loss Than Expected, Betting Future on the iPhone

Sprint posted a narrower loss than predicted during the third quarter of the year, but expects the iPhone to turn around the companies steady decline in contract subscribers despite the expensive intial investment. Sprint reported a quarterly loss of $301 million ($.10 a share), which is a third of their third quarter losses last year of $911 million ($.30 a share). Pegatron Lands 5M More iPhone 4S Orders Than Expected

The iPhone has been good to Pegatron Technologies. The Taiwan-based hardware manufacturer, along with Foxconn, supplies Apple with iPhones and iPads. The company recently announced received orders from the Cupertino, Calif. tech giant for 15 million iPhone 4S handsets, up from 10M orders previously expected.
