Apple Rumored to Purchase 12 Petabytes of Storage for iTunes

Apple has reportedly been stocking up on storage. According to published reports this week, Apple has placed an order for 12 petabytes (12,000 terabytes) with Isilon Systems. The additional storage will supposedly be used for videos on iTunes. The source who tipped off the press is only described as a source from EMC, which, incidentally, recently announced plans to acquire Isilon for $ 2.25 billion.

Apple Chief Steve Jobs Ordered to ‘Answer Questions’ in iTunes Antitrust Suit

Few people boss Apple Chief Steve Jobs around, but the iconic 56-year-old CEO has been ordered by a judge to “answer questions” in the class-action lawsuit alleging that Apple’s iTunes represents a “music store monopoly.” According to Bloomberg News, US Magistrate Judge Howard R. While Apple’s release of Snow Leopard 10.6.7 yesterday fixed some known issues, including the issue with the 2011 MacBook Pro screen flickering on the Apple Cinema Display, it seems that as one issue gets fixed, another arises.

Apple Taking Donations via iTunes to Help Earthquake Victims in Japan

Apple has begun taking donations through iTunes, to help the victims of the devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami that hit Japan on Friday. 100% of the donations will go directly to the American Red Cross and Apple is waiving its usual 30% fee. iOS 4.3 Goes Public : Available Now in iTunes

If you haven’t been following this, iOS 4.3 was released today as expected, an early release before the launch of the iPad 2.

iTunes 10.2.1 for Windows and Mac Released with iOS 4.3 Support [Safe for Jailbreak Users]

After releasing iTunes 10.2 last week, Apple today has released iTunes 10.2.1 for both Windows and Mac. This version of iTunes is more likely to be a bug-fix release than anything else.

iTunes 10.2.1 Today [Safe for Jailbreak Users], iOS 4.3 Tomorrow?

Apple has just released iTunes 10.2.1, yes that’s right, only 1 week after 10.2. Oddly enough I had to open up the Apple Software Update app to get the update to appear.

While the release notes state the exact same as they did with iTunes 10.2, we can only imagine that someone forgot something important to include before the release of iOS 4.3 to the public.

Apple Seeking Expanded Access to iTunes Downloads Across All iOS Devices

Apple is said to be actively engaged in negotiations with four major record labels to give iOS device users something they desperately want – expanded access to their digital music across all of their iOS devices. As a result, progress is apparently being made, the eventual outcome of which could be a new agreement between Apple and its largest digital music providers by the middle of 2011.
