Forbes released their list of the richest people in the world today, and among the newcomers making the list is Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of Apple cofounder Steve Jobs.

Powell inherited Steve Jobs’ massive fortune, which Forbes estimates to be $ 11 billion, making her the wealthiest woman in Silicon Valley, and 28th richest person in the world.

NPD Joins The Chorus With Data To Show Apple At The Top Of Smartphone Sales

Still winning.

The NPD Group announced a report today that confirms what many other analysts and data firms have been saying for a while now: Apple and Samsung are the top smartphone brands in terms of growth. Samsung and Apple’s combined unit sales rose 43 percent in the last year, from the second quarter of 2011 to the just finished second quarter of 2012. Apple Joins The Fair Labor Association To Help Improve Factory Working Conditions Overseas

The Fair Labor Association (FLA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the civil rights and living conditions of factory workers around the world. The Electronic Frontier Foundation has revealed that both Apple and Dropbox have joined the Digital Due Process coalition — a group whose mission is to pressure Congress into updating the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Google Joins Apple in Mobile Tracking Scandal

Following weeks of controversy stemming from the recent discovery that Apple’s iOS tracks user location information, on Tuesday Google joined the party as South Korean police raided Google’s Seoul offices.
