Apple-Web-OS-theme

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Someone developed an iOS theme that makes your iPhone look like it’s powered by the Apple online store. It’s called “Apple Web OS,” and although you probably wouldn’t want to use it every day, it’s actually rather impressive.

Created by Timothy Elliott, Apple Web OS replaces your home screen with what looks like a web page. Your icons are turned into product shots from the Apple  [Read More...]

I did something really dumb in Vegas last month — I forgot my sunglasses in a Starbucks. A couple of hours after trapsing through a mall, I realized what I’d done, and panicked; they weren’t cheap. I anxiously retraced my steps, ending up back at the cafe. Some fabulous Samaritan had turned them in.

If I’d left my phone behind instead — or something else large enough for a FinderCodes tag  [Read More...]

CES 2013 bug LAS VEGAS, CES 2013 -

In a departure from many of the other products being shown off at CES, MPowerd debuted what they call Luci, the collapsible, solar powered lamp. The entire product only weighs 4 ounces, and can easily collapse for storage if you’re traveling.

By simply placing the lantern in the sun for 4-6 hours, you can get up to 12 hours of light. MPowerd says that Luci  [Read More...]

CES 2013 bug LAS VEGAS, CES 2013 – Most Bluetooth speakers are pitched as being ideal for taking out onto the patio for barbecues and parties. But none of them is really loud enough. And that’s where Samson’s new Expedition Express Bluetooth PA comes in. It’s a Bluetooth speaker which is so powerful that it runs off a 12-volt motorcycle battery.

The enclosure contains a 6-inch woofer, a  [Read More...]

When we see companies shamelessly ripping off Apple’s brand, designs and trademarks, we usually think of any number of tiny Chinese knock-off makers (or Samsung).

Now, though, the Brazilians appear to be getting in on the action, as a Brazil-based electronics maker is now planning on launching a new line of Android smartphones that they are calling IPHONES. Yes, really.

Reuters reports that Brazilian device maker IGB Electronica SA plans an entire  [Read More...]

Your iPad 6 Might Be Powered By Intel [Rumor]

Over the last year Apple has been trying to cure itself of its dependency on Samsung, but that’s been pretty hard to do. Samsung makes Apple’s RAM, some displays, and is the sole supplier of processors for Apple’s mobile devices.

There has been speculation about where Apple might go to supplement or replace Samsung, and one of the top contenders Apple might turn to is Intel. According to a new rumor Apple is already in  [Read More...]

Georgia Institute of Technology engineers have devised a tongue-based driving system for people with high level spinal-cord industries. The Tongue Drive System comes in the form of a dental retainer instrument activated by a tongue piercing. A tiny magnet is attached to the piercing and the dental retainer is armed with sensors that track the movement of the magnet. These signals are wirelessly transmitted to an iPod Touch or iPhone where software installed on the device’s  [Read More...]

Like its iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch which utilize the company’s A4 and A5 processors, Apple’s upcoming television set will be powered by a custom-built chip made specifically for the Cupertino company. Sources claim that a number of manufacturers are currently bidding for Apple’s order, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), and Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL). Apple has reportedly struck a deal already with TSMC which  [Read More...]

I love Rocksteady’s series of Batman games for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. They are loving, incredibly crafted tributes to the Dark Knight clearly made by fans who get Batman, who is equal parts acrobat, brawler, psychopath, hero, detective and muscle. That’s why I’m excited to check out Batman: Arkham City Lockdown when it is released later tonight.   Built on the same version of the Unreal Engine as Infinity  [Read More...]

Apple iTV Siri Apple is working on a real television set (iTV?) that utilize the artificial intelligence agent Siri as the controller, according to a new report from The New York Times.
