Reply to Email Smarter By Quoting Selected Text in iOS Mail

We’ve all been there, part of an extraordinarily length email thread and there’s really only a small portion of it that’s necessary to respond to, but without the proper context the reply may not seem complete or even inappropriate. Rather than quoting the entire email and explaining the response, use smart quotes to reply only to a specifically selected portion of the email. You can do this on any iOS device in the Mail app:

Speak Selected Text with a Keystroke in Mac OS X

The excellent OS X text to speech function can be activated with a simple keystroke, but first you have to enable the feature:

Open System Preferences from the ? Apple menu Choose the “Dictation & Speech” panel then select the “Text to Speech” tab Check the box next to “Speak selected text when the key is pressed”

Motorola Triumphs Over Apple To Secure Online Ban On Selected iOS Devices

Apple has been forced to cease online sales of its iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and 3G-equipped iPad 2 in Germany after Motorola triumphed over the Cupertino company in aMannheimcourt, securing an injunction against several of its 3G devices.
